ENVIRONMENTAL SAVINGS AS A RESULT OF USING SOLAR COLLECTORS

The following data is taken from Genersys Solar.

The average environmental savings for a household comprising two adults and two children using an effective thermal solar system with a 200 litre hot water tank, using oil as the main source of fuel.

The additional equipment causes the extra emissions of about 1 1/2 to 2 tonnes of CO2 . This takes into account transport and fitting, hence the variance in the amount.

The panels will save an average of 3/4 tonnes of CO2 per year meaning the CO2 payback will take between 2 and 3 years (twice as fast as the financial cost), after that it is saving on CO2 emissions.
